How to order
Where and when can I place orders?
Orders will need to be placed online (order here), the day before you need your meals. The kitchen is always busy, so do order as soon as possible to guarantee your selection and delivery!
Can I order Shabbat meals?
Absolutely! Do get in touch to arrange delivery of your Shabbat meals, but please make sure to order these at least 24 hours in advance – We would recommend you order these meals as far in advance as possible, as these are the orders that are most likely to become overbooked.
What time can we place orders?
Orders need at least 24 hrs notice prior to prepare orders from Sunday-Thursdays (latest 5pm). No orders will be accepted from 3pm Fridays and we are closed on Saturdays.
Shabbat orders need to be received by 5pm the Thursday prior.
Is there a phone/WhatsApp number I can reach your team on?
Please only place orders through our website. If you have any special requests or need any further information, do drop us a message through the Contact Us tab, and we will do my best to get back to you as soon as possible!
What is the difference between Halal and Kosher?
Kosher Hebrew for “proper” or “fit” while Halal is Arabic meaning “permissible”. Kosher and halal refer to laws for food and preparation rituals and both have their roots in their respective scriptures like the Bible or Torah and the Quran respectively.
Another difference between the two is how they slaughter animals with prayers said on the first and last animal that they slaughter for kosher while Muslims who follow halal rituals say a prayer for every animal.
According to halal, any adult sane Muslim can slaughter animals but kosher only allows one kind of Rabbi, called the Sachet, specially trained for this task. Other animals like rabbit, wild hens, shellfish, duck and goose can be halal, these are not considered fit to eat under kosher laws.Keeping kosher means keeping meat and dairy strictly separate and even includes kosher wine, Muslims recognize the source of enzymes and whether it comes from a non-Halal animal before permitting consumption and does not allow any form of alcohol.
What does “Kosherati “mean?
Elli and her Emirati cooking partner have been busy experimenting with locally sourced flavors using kosher recipes to create their own Kosher/ Emirati fusion dishes. "Kosherati" refers to this intermingling derived from a mutual blend of familial respect and love for keeping a belly full and includes a combination of Ashkenazi and Sephardic recipes using Emirati spices and influence.
Where are you located?
We operate out of the Hilton Al Habtoor as a kosher catering company, but the hotel itself is not kosher.
I’m staying at the Hilton Habtoor! Can I order a kosher breakfast?
You can! You will need to place your order and give the hotel 24 hours’ advance notice for the dining room. It’s also possible to order a kosher packaged breakfast direct from the hotel and a kosher dinner menu to your room. Alternatively, if you order through the website (order here), you can collect your food by 6pm from the kosher kitchen and take it for in-room dining.
What is the cost and timing of deliveries to a Dubai hotel?
All deliveries are sent out at 4pm, although we can deliver after midday on request. Breakfast delivery orders are fulfilled with dinner deliveries the night before, and the cost of delivery is AED 35.
When is the best time to order my food from you?
You will need to place any food orders at least one day in advance to give the kitchen enough time to prepare your meals. December is looking particularly busy in the UAE, so we would recommend you place any orders for the month as soon as possible – especially for Shabbat, as often the online ordering system will close when we are overbooked.
Where do you deliver?
We can provide daily kosher meals to any hotel in Dubai. As our catering kitchen is based in the Hilton Habtoor, we would recommend staying there, as this will guarantee the freshness of your food and mean no delivery charges!
Do you have a loyalty scheme?
We do! After you’ve ordered from us at least twice, you can use loyalty discounts on any future orders.
Do you have a dining room?
Unfortunately, I can only cater to in-room dining at the moment, as there is currently no kosher dining room.
If we are not at our hotel when the food is delivered, can the hotel keep it for us until we return?
This will largely depend on the hotel you’re staying in. Most hotels will keep the food, but only if you instruct them to do so. According to the regulations of the Health and Safety Department of the UAE, hotels are not allowed to keep food that’s brought in from outside, so it’s probably best to check with your concierge before you go out.
Are there other foods, such as packaged take-away lunches, that you offer that aren’t shown on your website?
At this time, I only offer the food that is listed on my website.
Are your dishes delivered in microwave-safe containers?
All my dishes are delivered in foil containers that are double-wrapped in foil. If you would like microwaveable containers, please let me know when you place your order, and I will do my best to accommodate this.
I want to put together a plan for three separate deliveries - is this something I can do, and can I pay for this before traveling?
We take orders 24 hours in advance. However, if you would like to place an order ahead of time and schedule it for your arrival, I can accommodate this - but please clearly break down your order in the comments box, alongside the date on which you require each meal. Please also note that each separate delivery will incur a charge of AED 35.
