Date smoothies (plain and with cocoa). So nourishing, refreshing and energizing. This is what my kids have been enjoying during snack time while e-schooling during Covid-19 lockdown..
For a plain smoothie, simply blend 1 cup of almond milk, 1 banana (sliced and frozen), 6 dates and a few ice cubes. For extra flavor, add 1 tablespoon of cocoa (organic is best). To get a marble swirl in your glass, pour half the mixture out of the blender before adding cocoa. Then add the cocoa to the blend, pour the rest of the mixture into the glass and swirl with a spoon or straw.
