Updated: Jan 7

Expo 2020 Dubai has arrived! After being delayed for twelve months, the world’s greatest show has come to town for six months and I couldn’t be more excited! For those of you who don’t know much about Expo, or aren’t sure whether it’s for you, here are my top ten reasons to visit:

See the world in a day

With a whopping 192 countries involved in Expo 2020 Dubai, each with its own pavilion, this is a wonderful way to learn more about the world, meet new and interesting people, and explore all that each country has to offer! Included in this is the Israeli pavilion which is a definitely a site worth seeing. The UAE Pavilion is also a beautiful marvel!

Amazing architecture

From the falcon-inspired UAE Pavilion, to Emirates' aviation-themed building, via Germany’s stunning campus of the future and the UK’s inspiring AI poem structure, there are some truly incredible buildings to see. Each hosts unique events, exhibitions, and innovations, so be sure to set aside enough time to explore them all.

Incredible art

Expo has commissioned a number of unique art pieces from internationally-renowned artists - there’s even a dedicated art trail that you can follow! On top of these pieces are artistic takes on water fountains, shade structures, and even trees which are guaranteed to wow visitors and offer conversation starters on every visit!

Outdoor spaces

Expo 2020 Dubai features two expansive parks: Jubilee and Al Forsan. Each is bursting with areas to explore, including immersive, themed adventure playgrounds for kids, beautiful gardens for grown ups and plenty of picnic space to sit, relax and take in your surroundings.

Garden in the Sky

Built especially for Expo, this is an incredible observation tower that’s split over two decks: one of which is looks like a stunning outdoor garden, thanks to multiple live trees! Each deck rises 55 metres above Expo, offering spectacular views - and the observation decks rotate so you can take the whole site in on one trip.

Endless innovations

From the super high-tech Expo 2020 metro station that you can arrive on, to the robots that help to guide you around the event, to the unique ways in which Expo is working to become a “green” event, you’re constantly surrounded by incredible innovations that offer a glimpse into what the future could look like…

Stunning shows

Over its six-month run, Expo will be hosting some truly amazing entertainment, including concerts, dance displays, poetry performances and more. On top of these, the stunning Al Wasl Plaza features a dome that’s big enough to fit the Leaning Tower of Pisa underneath it, which will display stunning light shows on a daily basis!

Loads for the little ones

From the aforementioned adventure playgrounds, to hands-on craft classes and art exhibits, sports workshops and more, there is plenty at Expo to keep the kids entertained. Kids under the age of 18 are also entitled to free entry to Expo 2020 Dubai, making it perfect for a family day out.

From world-class cocktail bars to traditional Arabic entertainment, Expo offers some amazing nightlife that’s great for letting your hair down! There are family-friendly venues offering entertainment to keep youngsters amused, as well as grown-up ares with live music and more.
