Fresh, healthy home-cooked meals are just one of the few services that travelers and businessmen and women appreciate during their travels. Add in the bonus of catering to their religious dietary requirements and you have a recipe for success.

This is the foundation of Elli’s Kosher Kitchen – business that has made history by being the first to provide kosher food services in the United Arab Emirates.

The business is the brainchild of Elli Kriel, a trailblazing woman living in the UAE, who followed her dream of catering, and in doing so, pioneered the kosher market in the MENA region’s tourist industry.

Founded in 2019, which incidentally is also the “Year of Tolerance” in the UAE, Elli’s Kosher Kitchen provides wholesome, home-cooked meals delivered straight to the traveler’s hotel. Offering a broad selection of lunches, dinners and platters, the company caters for single travelers, families on vacation, business trips and conferences, as well as certified kosher meals and supplies for Jewish travelers. Elli’s Kosher Kitchen makes use of kosher products with the following hechsherim: Star-K, OU, K, KLBD (Kosher London Beth Din) and BD UOS SA (Beth Din Union of Orthodox Synagogues South Africa).

Elli’s Kosher Kitchen is a cut above the rest for the unique fusion of food, cultures and flavors. Kriel uses her own tried and trusted family recipes infused with a unique blend of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Ashkenazi/Sefardic cuisine for the menu offering.

“We like our meals to be experimental. We try to offer a blend of local specialties in our menu, to give travellers a real taste for the area,” Kriel said.

The business has grown tremendously since its launch and will make its debut at this year’s Kosherfest, which will take place from 12-14 November at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey USA.

“We’re proud to be part of the change happening in the UAE,” Kriel said. “Food has the great capacity to bring people together.”
